Morocco, EU Ink Three Projects to Support Cultural, Creative Industries

Three projects were inked Tuesday in Rabat as part of the Support Program for Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) in Morocco, which builds on cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the European Union (EU).

Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid and EU Ambassador to Morocco Dimiter Tzantchev chaired the signing ceremony for these projects with Africalia Foundation, Goethe-Institute, and Hiba Foundation, with the aim of strengthening the CCI ecosystem as a driver of economic development and social inclusion for young people.

These three projects, selected through a call for proposals, directly support young Moroccan creators by providing guidance on their projects and creations in collaboration with European partners, while helping them access information.

The first project, “Iqlaa: Your Cultural Accelerator,” led by “Africalia” in collaboration with Hiba Foundation and Institut français, focuses on supporting young companies in the CCI sector through a program aimed at ensuring their economic sustainability.

The second project, “Hi-Fenn connect, create, resonate,” led by Goethe-Institute in partnership with Ali Zaoua Foundation and the “Wallonie-Bruxelles” Foundation, aims to promote exchanges between the Moroccan and European creative ecosystems by encouraging co-creation and the sharing of expertise.

The third project, “Creative Morocco Gate,” led by Hiba Foundation and Association of Independent Radio and Television (ARTI), aims to provide a support platform for entrepreneurs in the sector, facilitate access to information and networking, and foster development opportunities.

The three signed projects reflect the shared commitment of Morocco and the EU to building a robust cultural and creative ecosystem through the involvement of the public and private sectors and civil society sector in support of a sustainable creative economy and shared cultural influence.
