{"id":114339,"date":"2023-06-18T10:42:34","date_gmt":"2023-06-18T09:42:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/agadirtoday.info\/?p=114339"},"modified":"2023-06-18T10:42:34","modified_gmt":"2023-06-18T09:42:34","slug":"morocco-eu-cgem-president-sees-in-economy-decarbonization-opportunity-to-create-innovative-common-market","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/agadirtoday.com\/?p=114339&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"MOROCCO-EU: CGEM PRESIDENT SEES IN ECONOMY DECARBONIZATION \u2018OPPORTUNITY\u2019 TO CREATE INNOVATIVE COMMON MARKET"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Casablanca<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Economy decarbonization offers European and Moroccan businesses a historic opportunity to create an innovative, green and common market and make it a model for the rest of the world, said Chakib Alj, head of Morocco\u2019s top employers\u2019 union, on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The Moroccan top official\u2019s statement came during a seminar initiatied by his General Confederation of Moroccan Businesses (CGEM) on the European Union\u2019s (EU) Green Pact.<\/p>\n<p>On this occasion, Alj noted that the entry into force of the carbon adjustment mechanism at the EU\u2019s borders is a major event and the first measure of its kind to stimulate green innovation in the industrialized world.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMorocco\u2019s strategic industries are ready to take up this challenge and recognize the importance of this moment,\u201d the CGEM president explained in a pre-recorded speech broadcast at the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year, we\u2019ve enlisted the help of our European partners to create a culture of sustainability,\u201d he further noted. \u201cFor example, in May, we launched a modular guide on the need to decarbonize our economy, in collaboration with the European Investment Bank.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe recognize that there are many regulatory challenges associated with this move.
