All Citizens Affected by Earthquake Sheltered in the Event of Bad Weather in Al Haouz
Thanks to the efforts of all those stakeholders, all the inhabitants whose houses had been completely or partially demolished by the earthquake were rehoused in tents, which would also provide them with protection against any bad weather, according to the same sources.
The same rehousing dynamic was observed in the other villages and douars affected by the earthquake which, according to the latest provisional official figures, left 2,946 people dead and 5,674 injured.
These efforts were highly praised by the beneficiaries whose homes were destroyed or cracked.
In statements to MAP, several residents praised the high level of care that His Majesty King Mohammed VI never ceases to show citizens in all circumstances.
They also expressed their satisfaction with the strong, swift and proactive response of the public authorities to provide shelter for the affected populations to protect them from the unstable weather conditions in this mountainous area.
Access to the stricken villages and douars is ensured thanks to the exemplary and continuous mobilization of local authorities, the Royal Armed Forces, the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, the Moroccan Red Crescent, the Royal Gendarmerie, Auxiliary Forces, Civil Protection elements and other stakeholders.
Colossal efforts were made, making it possible, just a few hours after the earthquake, to transport food and supplies to the affected populations, by air and land.
