Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI—may God assist Him—and in commemoration of the Silver Jubilee of the historic Royal Speech of Ajdir – Khénifra (2001), the fine arts exhibition “Manifestations of Heritage in Visual Art” opens this morning, Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at half-past ten.

Or when canvases bring the memory of places back to life: five artists shatter the boundaries of reality to take the public on an eclectic visual journey spanning calligraphy, color, and architecture. This exhibition is to be discovered throughout the duration of the festival at the exhibition hall of the Sidi Belyout Cultural Complex in Casablanca.

This prominent cultural event and striking exhibition form part of the 8th edition of the Casablanca Amazigh Theatre Festival, organized by the Tafoukt Space for Creation in partnership with the Royal Institute of Amazigh Culture (IRCAM) and the Casablanca-Settat Region. The festivities will run from September 30 to October 04, 2026, illuminating the theatres of the region’s various cities under the banner of creativity and cultural diversity.

Visual Universes that Celebrate Identity and Memory

The “Manifestations of Heritage” exhibition brings together an exceptional bouquet of five talented visual artists who, alongside other creators, have marked the art scene with visual visions that embrace heritage and touch upon contemporary spirituality:

  • Artist Hamid Baha: A multimedia scenographer and contemporary artist. He fuses authenticity and modernity through an expressionist-abstract touch inspired by Moroccan architecture, viewing art as a human and identitarian commitment.
  • Artist Mohamed El Qasid: A pioneer of the contemporary Islamic school, he weaves through his lines and arabesques an identitarian vision that elevates the Arabic letter into an aesthetic block vibrant with spirituality and beauty.
  • Artist Soumia Eddalimi: A magician of colors and contemporary portraiture, she offers an aesthetic and feminist approach that celebrates women with strength and freedom, deconstructing forms in a journey between dream and reality.
  • Artist Abdelaziz Ajriry: A self-taught artist who marries the visual dimension of calligraphy and the canvas with the literary depth of storytelling, thereby creating a unique experience acclaimed by critics and documented by Ministry of Culture publications.
  • Artist Amina Channani Tanji: A daughter of the historic El Habous district, she has transformed the memory of traditional rugs and woolen threads into a visual joy that pulses to the rhythm of daily life and Moroccan identity.

The fine arts exhibition “Manifestations of Heritage” is not merely an exhibition of canvases, but an open window onto memory and a renewed invitation to contemplate the aesthetics of Moroccan identity in all its depth. The public of the Amazigh Theatre Festival will have the opportunity to visit it at the exhibition hall of the Sidi Belyout Cultural Complex starting this Wednesday, September 30, and running until October 04, 2026.

Consequently, a cordial invitation is extended to all enthusiasts, critics, and figures from the world of visual arts, as well as to national and international media outlets, to cover the official opening ceremony of the exhibition, which will take place during the morning launch of the festival’s 8th edition.
